On 29 March 2014, John Chelist, formally with Trailwagons, now with Wagon Trail RV - who is bringing back the Chinook Motor Homes to production, stopped by the Chinook RV Club Rally at Pahrump, Nevada to show us the first production prototype of the Chinook brand motorhome. This prototype is a upgraded, refreshed version of the 25 foot Glacier. It utilized the same chassis (Ford E-450) and fiberglass molds used by Trailwagons. The following photographs are of that prototype. As a first prototype, not all features and equipment are final - they intend to take the next several months to show the vehicle and learn what equipment and features need to be "tweaked" before they go to production. Some of these items are already known, such as dining table too long, awning should be full length, television should be name brand, cabinets above the sofa need to open with slide closed, etc. But all in all, the prototype is stunning. The finishes are in line with Chinook quality, the new windows are beautiful, the upgraded electronics and technology are nicely incorporated, the LED lighting is superb, and myriad of large and small improvements are impressive. John indicated that they were going to start on the first Concourse prototype soon, hopefully on an E-450 chassis.
The new Chinook Glacier can be viewed at the Wagon Trail RV facility in Las Vegas when it is not on the road to selected RV shows around the country. It will also be at their Las Vegas RV Show 9th - 13th of April. John Chelist can answer questions if you contact him at 314-852-3330
